Since July 2022, exporting Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) to Saudi Arabia requires mandatory certification under the SASO RoHS Technical Regulation. Unlike previous rules, non-compliance means your product - including spare parts - will be blocked by Saudi Customs and denied entry to the market.
This service will focus on preparing the client's documentation for submission to a SASO Notified Body (like Intertek, whom the client must use for testing/certification).
Service ComponentDescription & Value PropositionTechnical File Preparation (IEC 63000)
Assembly and validation of the full technical documentation (similar to EU RoHS) required by SASO, ensuring alignment with the IEC 63000 standard.
Product Scope & Category Review
Determining if the client's EEE falls under one of the seven enforcement categories and identifying any applicable exemptions (like military or large-scale fixed industrial tools).
Certification Management
Facilitation of the conformity assessment process with the client's chosen SASO Notified Body, ensuring the technical file meets the NB's requirements for smooth certification issuance.
Substance & BoM Assessment
Reviewing the Bill of Materials (BoM) to ensure maximum permitted limits are met for the six restricted substances (Pb, Hg, Cd, Cr(VI), PBB, PBDE).
Supplier Declaration of Conformity (SDoC)
Preparation of the required Supplier Declaration of Conformity form (Annex 4) and ensuring the SDoC is supported by necessary risk assessment documents.
REACH-to-SASO Bridge: We leverage your existing EU/UK RoHS technical documentation, preventing unnecessary re-testing and speeding up your SASO certification timeline.
Local KSA Focus: We understand the SASO system and the required steps within the SABER platform (the system used for KSA certification).
